Anyone can fall victim to scams, regardless of their background or circumstances. Whether you've personally experienced a scam or have ingenious tactics to outsmart scammers, your knowledge can be useful in helping others stay vigilant.
By sharing your story, not only will you help protect others and build a more well-informed community, but you also get a chance to win up to RM9,500 in cash prizes!

Requirements

Content submitted can be in article or video format and must focus on the theme of scams, eg. personal scam encounters, prevention tips, opinions to eradicate scams.

Content submitted can either be in English, Bahasa Melayu or Mandarin.

To qualify your content sumbission as an entry for this campaign, you must include the #Scam or #诈骗 hashtag in your submission title, and select #Scam / #诈骗 in the ‘NCC campaign’ field. Failure to include both will result in the submission not being considered as a campaign entry.

Article submission must be at least 300 words in length and contain at least one (1) image, with proper credit.

Video submission must be at least 60 seconds in duration accompanied by a minimum 100-word description.

Content must be original and not plagiarised.

Content submitted is to be exclusive to Newswav and not shared with other media outlets/publishers.

Participants must share the published content in the form of a Newswav link (e.g. newswav.com/xxx) on to their social media platform(s) within the campaign period in order to be eligible. Comments do not count as sharing.

Term & Conditions
CONTEST PERIOD
1. The #Scam / #诈骗 NCC Campaign (the “Contest”) is organized by Newswav Sdn. Bhd (“the Organiser”).
2. The Contest will commence from:
i) Round 1 - 1 June 2023 (Thu, 12pm) to 7 August 2023 (Mon, 12pm)
ii) Round 2 - 25 September 2023 (Mon, 12pm) to 4 December 2023 (Mon, 12pm)
(above dates inclusive) (the “Contest Period”).
3. However, the period for you to submit your entry will start from:
i) Round 1 - 1 June 2023 (Thu, 12pm) to 31 July 2023 (Mon, 12pm)
ii) Round 2 - 25 September 2023 (Mon, 12pm) to 26 November 2023 (Sun, 12pm)
(above dates inclusive) (the “Submission Period”).
CONTEST ELIGIBILITY
4. The Contest is open to all Malaysians who fulfil the following criteria (the “Participants"):
i) are Newswav users
ii) aged 18 & above and residing in Malaysia
CONTENT SUBMISSION & REQUIREMENTS
5. Content submitted can be in article or video format (the “Content” or “Entry”) and must focus on the theme of scams, eg. personal scam encounters, prevention tips, opinions to eradicate scams.
6. The Organiser reserves the right to reject any submissions that are non-relevant or forcefully related to the theme.
7. Content submitted can either be in English, Bahasa Melayu or Mandarin.
8. To qualify your Content sumbission as an entry for this campaign, you must include the #Scam or #诈骗 hashtag in your submission title, and select #Scam / #诈骗 in the ‘NCC campaign’ field. Failure to include both will result in the submission not being considered as a campaign entry.

Comments on a post will not be considered social media sharing and will result in disqualification.
WINNER SELECTION
14. Newswav Top Picks (up to 25): Newswav will select up to twenty five (25) best-produced content at the end of the contest period, where winners will receive RM200 each.
i) There might be instances where the winners are fewer than twenty five (25).
15. Best Video Content (up to 15): Up to fifteen (15) videos with the highest number of engagements by the end of the contest period will receive RM300 each.
i) Engagement refers to genuine reactions, shares, and comments on Newswav.
ii) The Organiser reserves the right to remove any duplicated, non-genuine, malicious or spam reactions, shares, and comments when tabulating the winner list.
iii) There might be instances where the winners are fewer than fifteen (15).
16. To qualify for the winner selection, your entry must meet the following criteria:
i) English content: Achieve minimum 5,000 views and 100 engagements
ii) Mandarin content: Achieve minimum 2,000 views and 75 engagements
iii) Bahasa Melayu content: Achieve minimum 1,000 views and 50 engagements
17. Each Participant is not limited to winning in just one category (e.g. Individual A could win the Newswav Top Picks and Best Video Content simultaneously). However, each Participant could only win a maximum of one (1) prize from each prize category (e.g. Individual A could win only ONE Newswav Top Picks and ONE Best Video Content at most).
18. Winners shall be solely determined by the Organiser, whose decision shall be deemed final. No correspondence or appeal(s) will be entertained.
WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT & PRIZES REDEMPTION
19. Winner announcements will be made via email to the winner(s) on the following dates:
i) Round 1 - 28 August 2023
ii) Round 2 - 26 December 2023
20. Winners must provide their NRIC copy and a screenshot of their winning content shared on social media during the contest period for verification and to claim their prize. Failure to do so may result in prize revocation.
21. Participants who fail to reply to the email within seven (7) days will have their prize forfeited.
22. Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable or refundable in any way.
GENERAL
23. All costs and expenses in connection with the production of the Content and the participation of this Contest shall be fully borne by the Participants.
24. Content submitted must not be vague, illegal, or unlawful, lewd, obscene, sexually explicit, pornographic, disparaging, defamatory, libellous, offensive, must not infringe any third party’s legal rights, and must not be capable of giving rise to legal action whether against you or the Organiser or a third party (in each case under any applicable law). User Content must be researched beforehand and be of truth.
25. The Organiser reserves the right to reject, edit or remove any of the Participants’ content at the discretion of the Organiser, at any time.
26. By submitting the Content, The Organiser has the rights to use the Entries or material submitted for library, promotional, or commercial use globally.
DECLARATION & AUTHORISATION
27. The Organiser reserves the right at its absolute discretion to postpone, reschedule and/or extend the Contest Period and/or terminate the Contest at any given time without prior notice.
28. The Organiser reserves the right to amend the mechanics, prizes, and terms & conditions of the Contest, as well as other aspects of the Contest at its absolute discretion without prior notice.
29. By participating in this Contest, the Participants are deemed to have read and understood and have agreed to comply with all terms and conditions (“Terms and Conditions”) set forth in this section (as varied or changed).
